MANILA – ABS-CBN has been chosen again by the organizers of Miss Universe to be their exclusive media partner in the Philippines.

The much-awaited Miss Universe 2009 will be broadcast live on ABS-CBN on August 24 at 9:30 a.m. A primetime telecast will be aired the same day via Velvet (SkyCable channel 53) at 8 p.m.

Catch the replays on Studio 23 on August 25 at 8 p.m.; ABS-CBN, August 27 at 10 p.m.; Velvet, August 26 at 8:30 p.m. and August 29 at 10 p.m.

ABS-CBN also aired the 1994 Miss Universe pageant held in Manila where Miss India Shusmita Sen took home the crown.

About 80 of the finest and most gorgeous women from across the globe will gather in Bahamas next month to compete in the world’s most prestigous beauty pageant, including Philippine bet Pamela Bianca Manalo.

Before winning the Bb. Pilipinas-Universe title, the 23-year-old model-flight stewardess used to be one of the hosts of Studio 23’s variety show “Rush TV Atin 'To.”

The beauty pageant will be hosted by “Access Hollywood” co-anchor Billy Bush and “Celebrity Apprentice” star Claudia Jordan. The reigning Miss Universe is Dayana Mendoza from Venezuela. - (READ abs-cbnNEWS.com)
